How to get your team accountable
I was just talking with somebody about a professional services firm and about accountability, and the question is: how does the CEO actually make sure that people are accountable?
They all say that they want to be, but of course they don't.
So the problem is that most often these are not actually teams working together. What they're doing is they're still doing isolated work, and they're trying to create an artificial accountability.
What you do as the leader, as the one working on your team, is make sure that they are doing things that are interdependent. Put them together in a true team to make sure that they're working on a task.
